1. Latest Payment & Budget Update
For the 2026 fiscal year, the government has announced a 20% increase in the BISP budget.
- The New Amount: While many beneficiaries are currently receiving Rs. 13,500, the government has started phasing in an increased amount of Rs. 14,500 per installment to combat the rising cost of living.
- Ramadan Bonus: Since Ramadan is approaching, eligible families may see an additional “Top-up” of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 through the linked 9999 PM Relief or 8070 Nigehban programs.
2. 8171 Eligibility Check (2026 Methods)
The verification system has been upgraded to provide “Real-Time Tracking.”
- Method 1 (SMS): Send your 13-digit CNIC (no dashes) to 8171.
- Note: Telenor users are currently facing network issues with 8171; it is recommended to use Jazz or Zong SIMs for an instant reply.
- Method 2 (Web Portal): Visit the 8171 Web Portal, enter your CNIC and the provided captcha code to see your exact “Qist” (installment) status.
3. New: BISP Digital Wallet & Mobile Registration
To stop agents from cutting “fees” out of your payment, BISP has launched the 8171 Digital Wallet.
- Direct-to-Mobile: Eligible women can now register their own mobile number (linked to their CNIC) on the portal to receive funds directly in a digital wallet.
- Mobile Registration Vans: For those in remote areas, Benazir Mobile Vans are now traveling door-to-door to conduct the NSER survey, ensuring no one is left out.
4. Mandatory Recertification (Deadline Alert)
If you have been a beneficiary for more than three years, you must undergo Recertification by June 2026.
- Why? The government is updating the poverty (PMT) scores. If you fail to visit a BISP Tehsil office for a “Dynamic Survey” before the deadline, your payments may be suspended for the next three years.
- Documents Needed: Original CNIC, Children’s B-Form, and a recent electricity/gas bill.
5. Where to Collect Your Money
BISP has moved away from private “retail shops” to ensure security. Use only:
- HBL ATMs (in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan)
- Bank Alfalah ATMs (in KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK)
- Official BISP Campsites: Set up in major tehsils during installment releases.
- Biometric Mandatory: No payment can be released without your thumbprint verification.
Safety Warning
- Official SMS: All BISP messages only come from 8171. Any message from a 03xx-xxxxxxx number is a scam.
- Zero Charges: BISP registration and the NSER survey are 100% free. Report anyone asking for money to the helpline at 0800-26477.
