The Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme 2026 is a major initiative by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz aimed at empowering landless farmers and unemployed youth in Punjab. Under this project, the Punjab government is allocating 250,000 acres of agricultural land to deserving individuals to promote self-employment through farming.

Each selected beneficiary will receive 3 to 5 acres of land free of cost, primarily in districts like Rajanpur and other parts of South Punjab.

1. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the free land allotment, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Punjab with a valid CNIC.
  • Employment Status: Must be currently unemployed or a landless farmer.
  • Age Limit: Generally between 18 and 35 years (preference is given to youth).
  • Financial Standing: Must not be a bank loan defaulter or a regular government employee.
  • PSER Registration: You must be registered in the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) to verify your poverty score and landless status.

2. How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

The application process is designed to be transparent and merit-based, utilizing both online and offline channels.

Method A: Online via PSER Portal

Most Punjab welfare schemes, including this one, now use the PSER portal for initial screening:

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to pser.punjab.gov.pk.
  2. Register/Login: Create an account using your CNIC and mobile number.
  3. Complete the Survey: Fill in details about your household, income (should be under Rs. 50,000), and current land ownership (should be zero).
  4. Select Scheme: Look for the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” or “Free Land Allotment” section once the application window officially opens for your district.

Method B: Agriculture Department Offices

  1. Visit your nearest Assistant Director Agriculture (Extension) or Tehsil Agriculture Office.
  2. Collect the physical application form (if digital access is unavailable).

3. Additional Benefits for Selected Farmers

Winning a plot is just the first step; the government also provides a support package to ensure successful cultivation:

  • Punjab Kissan Card: Allottees are automatically issued a Kissan Card to get interest-free loans for seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
  • Technical Training: “Centres of Excellence” are being established in tehsils to train new farmers in modern agricultural techniques.
  • Machinery Support: Access to subsidized tractors and laser land levelers.
