Important Bank Holidays in Ramadan 2026

In addition to the revised daily schedule, banks will observe specific full-day closures:

  • Bank Holiday (Zakat Deduction): Expected on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 (1st Ramadan, subject to moon sighting). On this day, banks remain closed for public dealing to perform Zakat deductions from saving accounts, though staff usually attend for internal processing.+1
  • Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays: Banks will remain closed from March 21 to March 23, 2026, for the Eid break.

Digital Banking & ATM Availability

  • 24/7 Access: While physical branches close early, ATMs, Mobile Banking Apps, and Internet Banking portals will remain operational 24/7 throughout Ramadan and the Eid holidays.
  • Cash Replenishment: The SBP has directed all banks to ensure that ATMs are consistently replenished with cash to avoid any inconvenience during the shorter branch hours.

Summary Checklist

  • Plan Ahead: If you have manual banking tasks (like depositing a cheque or collecting a pay order), ensure you arrive before 2:00 PM on weekdays and 12:30 PM on Fridays.
  • Friday Rush: Friday hours are extremely short (only 3.5 hours of dealing), so it is recommended to complete urgent transactions between Monday and Thursday.

Note: After the conclusion of the holy month and the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, banks will automatically revert to their standard pre-Ramadan timings.
