The CM Punjab Apni Zameen Apna Ghar (AZAG) program has entered its major allotment phase. This flagship initiative by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz aims to provide free 3-marla residential plots to the most vulnerable, landless, and homeless families across Punjab.
The program specifically targets low-income citizens, ensuring that those who cannot afford to buy land can finally have a permanent address.
The scheme is structured to not only provide land but also facilitate the construction of a house.
- Plot Size: 3 Marla (approximately 675 sq. ft.).
- Total Plots (Phase 1): Over 2,000 plots across 19 districts (with a target of 100,000 homes by the end of 2026).
- Loan Facility: Successful plot allottees are also eligible for an interest-free construction loan of up to Rs. 1.5 Million (15 Lakh).
- Cost: The application and the plot itself are 100% free for eligible low-income families.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for a free 3-marla plot in the 2026 cycle, you must meet the following strict conditions:
- Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Punjab (verified via CNIC).
- Landless Status: Neither the applicant nor their spouse or dependent children should own any plot or house anywhere in Pakistan.
- Income Limit: Monthly household income must be below Rs. 60,000.
- Poverty Score: Preference is given to those with a low PMT (Poverty Means Test) score in the PSER/BISP records.
- Background: Must have a clean criminal record and must not be a bank defaulter.
Online Application Process
The Punjab government has centralized all housing applications through a single digital portal to ensure transparency.
- Access the Portal: Visit azag.punjab.gov.pk.
- Registration: Create an account using your CNIC and a mobile number registered in your name.
- Fill the Form: Enter your personal details, current address (rented/informal), and family information.
- Upload Documents:
- CNIC scans (Front & Back).
- Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from NADRA.
- Income Proof (Salary slip or affidavit).
- Utility Bill of your current residence as proof of living in Punjab.
- Submit: After submission, you will receive a tracking ID via SMS.
Allotment and Restrictions
- Computerized Balloting: Because the number of applicants far exceeds the number of plots, allotment is done through a transparent e-balloting system.
- Construction Timeline: You must begin construction within 6 months of receiving possession and complete it within 2 years.
- No-Sale Clause: To prevent property speculation, the plot cannot be sold, transferred, or leased for 5 years. If you try to sell it before this period, the allotment will be canceled immediately.
Phase 1 Priority Districts
Plots are currently being distributed in major housing schemes in districts including:
- Sargodha (Sillanwali)
- Khushab (Jauharabad)
- Bahawalnagar
- Mandi Baha-ud-Din
- Attock (Hazro)
- Chishtian (Initial launch site for 666 plots)
