the Ehsaas Program (now primarily integrated with the Benazir Income Support Programme – BISP) has introduced significant updates to its payment structure and registration process to counter inflation.
Payment Update: Rs. 13,500 Quarterly Stipend
The most important update for 2026 is the increase in the quarterly cash assistance.
- New Amount: The stipend has been officially raised to Rs. 13,500 (up from Rs. 10,500).
- Payment Cycle: The first installment of 2026 is being released in phases starting from late January/February 2026.
- Digital Wallets: To stop illegal deductions by agents, BISP has launched Mobile Wallets (partnered with JazzCash, EasyPaisa, and Bank Alfalah). You can now receive your full amount directly on your phone.
Eligibility Criteria (2026)
The government uses the PMT (Proxy Means Test) Score to determine eligibility.
- PMT Score: Must be 32 or below for the Kafalat (cash) program.
- Income Limit: Monthly household income should generally be less than Rs. 50,000.
- Exclusions: No family member should be a government employee (Grade 17+), own a registered vehicle (excluding motorcycles), or have a high history of international travel.
- Priorities: Widows, divorced women, and households with persons with disabilities (PWDs) are given priority.
How to Register (No Online Form)
Important Correction: There is no official online registration form or WhatsApp registration. Beware of fake links.
- NSER Dynamic Survey: You must visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office.
- Required Documents: Bring your original CNIC, children’s B-Form, and a mobile SIM registered in your name.
- Survey Process: A representative will update your household data in the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER). You will receive a confirmation SMS from 8171 after verification.
How to Check Your Status
- 8171 Web Portal: Visit 8171.bisp.gov.pk. Enter your 13-digit CNIC and the security code shown on the screen to see your eligibility and balance.
- SMS: Send your CNIC number (without dashes) to 8171. You will receive an automated reply with your status.
