Bewah Sahara Card SchemeBewah Sahara Card Scheme

The CM Punjab Bewah Sahara Card 2026 is a dedicated welfare initiative designed to provide financial security to widows across Punjab. This program offers a monthly stipend to help cover basic living expenses, ensuring that women who have lost their husbands and have no stable income can live with dignity.

For the 2026 cycle, the Punjab government has integrated this scheme with the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) to ensure transparent and merit-based distribution.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Bewah Sahara Card, applicants must meet the following benchmarks:

  • Marital Status: Must be a widow (husband’s death certificate is mandatory).
  • Residency: Must hold a permanent residence or domicile in Punjab.
  • Income Level: Must belong to a low-income household (typically with a monthly income below Rs. 50,000).
  • Exclusions: Widows receiving a government pension or those who are regular government employees are not eligible.
  • Asset Limit: Applicants should not own significant assets like large plots of land or luxury vehicles.

How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)

The application process for 2026 is primarily digital through the PSER portal.

  1. Portal Access: Visit the official pser.punjab.gov.pk website.
  2. Account Registration: Create an account using your own CNIC and a mobile number registered in your name.
  3. Survey Completion: Fill out the household survey form. Ensure you specifically mention your marital status as “Widow” to trigger the relevant support category.
  4. Document Upload: You will need to upload clear scans/photos of:
    • Your valid CNIC.
    • Death Certificate of your late husband (issued by Union Council/NADRA).
    • Proof of residence (e.g., a utility bill).
  5. Submission: Review your data and submit. You will receive a tracking ID via SMS to monitor your application status.

Offline Registration Option

For those who cannot access the internet, the government has set up physical centers:

  • e-Khidmat Markaz: You can visit any e-Khidmat Markaz in your district with your original documents.
  • BISP/Social Welfare Offices: Designated offices are also providing registration counters to assist widows with their applications.

Verification & Payment

  • Verification: Once you apply, your data is cross-checked with NADRA and PSER records. This process usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Payment Method: Successful beneficiaries are issued the Bewah Sahara Card, which can be used to withdraw the monthly stipend via ATMs or authorized biometric payment points (like Bank of Punjab or HBL Konnect).
